Re: Kisei next week
Just curious, emeraldemon, how do you keep up with the title tournaments such as the Kisei and the kuksu?
I have subscribed to the RSS feeds of justplaygo.com and Biondy's unlimitedgo.blogspot.com.
What resources do you use?

You can find full schedules for many tournaments here. I usually visit nihonkiin and wbaduk sites to get an idea if I want to watch anything in the evening.

Thanks. Do you use google translate when using nihonkiin and wbaduk sites? I'm guessing the games are broadcasted on igs, tygem, or on wbaduk.

Re: Kisei next week
We try to keep the Senseis go news page updated--it has the Japanese title matches and most of the Chinese and Korean ones.
It's all on the front page, so it's faster if you just want dates of upcoming final matches.
I use Mr. Kin's site, myself.

Iyama Yuta wins game 1:

There's a pretty interesting ko in this one. Also Cho U opens 5-4, for the fans of that move.

Re: Kisei next week
Although Cho U is a very territorial player, he has a history with the 5-4 point. He used to often play
as an approach. Depending on how his opponent responds, he may end up playing a 5-4 joseki. I think playing 5-4 as White might be a recent thing for him, but I'm not saying that with the backing of a database.

Re: Kisei next week
Game 2: Cho U wins.
Interesting fuseki leading into a complex ko on the left. I don't see the long low enclosure too often, but I may try incorporating it in my games. I've also never seen that joseki in the lower right before.

I never use the front page, but I don't see a link there for it
There is a link on the Starting Points page, but it doesn't really stand out, so it took me a minute to find it.

Re: Kisei next week
What I meant was that the Go News page includes all the major news as soon as you look--you don't have to click through to the individual title pages. That could've been clearer.
But I also think having the Go News page linked from the front page of Sensei's is nice.
Worth noting: Mr. Kin also has a summary of more notable events at http://igokisen.web.fc2.com/topics.html, for those who don't care about the details of every preliminary tournament and whatnot.

Re: Kisei next week
Do they televise these games? It's something I've been curious about for awhile. I've seen one or two games played by Lee Sedol televised, but nothing other than that.
Slava Ukraini!
