Opinons on "Attacking and Defending Moyos"?

Post by jdl »

If you've read "Attacking and Defending Moyos" (K77), I would appreciate your thoughts on it.

This is one of the places in the game where I get completely lost. I can see the moyo, and I know I have to do something about it, but it's a mystery to me where I should be playing. I make a wild guess and see what happens.

When I first read it I was in the mid-teen kyus, so I'm not the most qualified to comment, but here are my impressions anyway. Most of the opening stuff where it gives principles for attacking and defending moyos were ideas I'd already come across and knew about. However, there are a lot of problems (151 I think) which I really enjoyed that had fairly good, if brief, explanations and I also quite liked the example games.

It's not highly in depth or incredibly insightful, but I reckon it could help a lot if you're finding yourself lost with moyos.
