Copy and Paste Bug?

Post by ez4u »

Sometimes when I copy and paste diagram code into a post, each line of the code is offset to the right four spaces. The diagram does not render and just shows up as a little box that says "Go Diagram". I am using Firefox 5.0 on Windows 7, although I think it has also happened using Safari on my iPad 2. It happens whether I select the text with my mouse of with the cursor. Do others have this experience? Does anyone know why it happens? It happens some of the time, other times everything pastes correctly. However, when it does happen, reselecting the text and copying it again does not fix the issue. I end up deleting the four spaces on each line.

happens to me sometimes. You can hit "quote" on a previous post to get the un-indented diagram.

Yes, unless you're in a Malkovich game and you cannot hit "quote" because the post contains something hidden,
so back to copy and paste. :)

The trick is to hightlight only to the end of the last line of the diagram code (without the newline following it) before hitting "copy". If you highlight the newline after the last line, you will get the offset by 4, if not, you will get the correct diagram code.
