Ouchie

Post by happysocks »

This was an exciting game for me which made losing it the way I did on time kinda tough - was listening to music on youtube when something other then music and distracting popped up from my playlist so, rather then just hit mute I decide to go round up some more music thinking sure black can rapid fire the last 6 stones or whatever to refresh time. :blackeye: Gonna have to start giving igs' no byoyomi time control a little more respect. Don't really feel I've been playing enough to deserve a game analysis but this was my first return game from the last painful episode at igs (also my fault!) so found myself here seeking a little solace. Any comments appreciated!

My only comment on the game is to ask if the white' group on the bottom right side is dead, there seems to be a fair amount of aji against black in the corner but I couldn't make it work for white.

Little comic relief (I'll never learn!). Think Everett is amazing by the way.

Obviously we assume black saves his glob of stones on that next move. :)

As far as I can tell white is very dead. I looked at just about every move and there seems to be no way to do it. Not even a way to get close. Every move white makes in black's area seems to get cut off and killed. At the worst, black can let white's little P4 stone live to connect back to his group if white tries O5.

If white can live there I'll have to rethink everything I know about life and death and capturing races in go. Whatever move there is there would be a super tesuji. Now, white does have a lot of ko threats from that, but that's all I can see. Lots and lots of ko threats and a dead white group.

Edit: Lol, I've just realised I reviewed the wrong player.

Some comments

I'm pretty sure moyoaji is right about the bottom right. It looks a bit like a potential seki but I can't find any way to make it work.
