Hello! I'm a freshman at the University of California, Davis and have been playing Go for about three months and am hooked. I'm hoping to join the Go Club in Sacramento and am hoping to augment what I learn there with what I can learn here.

Welcome. You should check out the Davis/Sacramento Go Club. They have regular tournaments. The next one is September 7th. I don't know much about the current level of activity, though. Also worth looking into is the Bay Area Go Players Association which lists nearby events and tournaments including ones in Davis. There is a mailing list you can join.
A good person to reach to in that area is Steve Burrall. Everyone knows him and he should be able to help you find players.
