Nanny on OGS

Post by LuckyJim »

I played against bot Nanny on OGS, 19 Kyu, like me on OGS. At several points in the game I just did not now what train of thought to follow and just tried to play the safest or most valuable point. Such uninspirational play of course leads to a big loss. I am reading Attack And Defense but find it hard to apply the concepts. Comments appreciated!

Problems with your basics. See also Post #5 of this thread --
Notice Jeromie's similar experience as yours with Attack and Defense. :)

Thank you very much for the review EdLee. Obviously need to work on basics, so I am first reading Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go by Kageyama again before I continue Attack and Defense. And going to play that Nanny bot again when I have time. Will post here again when I finally win.

Attack and Defense like any good go book is one you're going to have to reread several times at different strengths to get as much as you can out of it. Don't worry about things being hard to digest, it's got plenty of ideas in it that are near impossible for a ddk to get their head around properly (and arguably most sdks).
