1) Area scoring rules are much easier (and especially for beginners) than [traditional] territory scoring rules.

Chinese rules are not as simple as simple area scoring rules can be. Therefore, I am not sure whom you are referring to. Of course, Chinese rules can have disputes, are not quite as easy as simple area scoring rules and are nevertheless much easier than territory scoring rules.

As for making an issue out of the relative difficulty of the Chinese rules, that is a separate question.
