This seems a bad example since the tsumego are ripped from a computer program. You can't really be sure what order or intent the author had in putting those together. It's better to get some tsumego books instead.Perception wrote: I wish I did. If I did it would be much easier to spend a lot of time on it. I do enjoy some tsumego but it may be that I spend too much time on problems that are too easy or too hard. For example, I'm working through Cho Chikun's Ecyclopedia of Life and Death - Intermediate level and it's just boring. I think there are two reasons I find it boring, the problems are mostly easy for me and the problems are arranged in a way that a lot of very similar problems come up in a row. I have other problem collections but I've worked through them multiple times already except for the problems that are too difficult.

Re: Getting past your OK plateau
I do have books. I have the both the Lee Changho Life and Death and Tesuji series and I have 5 Japanese books (two of them being from the nihon kiin dan level series). I've worked through them all multiple times except for the problems which are too hard for me to solve and the ones from the nihon kiin dan level series since I just got those a couple days ago.
I actually knew that the problems in the Cho Chikun problem set were from a computer program, I only gave that as an example since that's what I'm currently working through. I'm getting close to finishing it though so I'll be able to move on to my new books soon.

If you have new books, you should just skip the L&D encyclopedia. You can always come back to it and be miserable once you have looked at the new ones.

Re: Getting past your OK plateau
If you're SDK: Play lots of games that aren't blitz but aren't too long (maybe 10 minutes per side +byo yomi).
If low SDK: Gokyo Shumyo, Lee Chang-ho L&D 1-4
If dan: Lett Chang-ho L&D 1-6. Train Like a Pro and actually spend the necessary amount of time to do everything properly
And obviously still play games, but I think mass gaming doesn't work as well in the low dan range as it did as a SDK.
