The game was even more interesting than the result, Park played a funky 5th line attachment on top of a pincer, and later a huge ko and trade:

I'm impressed with the way W chose P15 in the top right joseki, then followed brilliantly with the ladder breaker at R9. Although W low right dragon dead in the end, he seems to get enough compensation with the top.

Not sure if there is a better alternative for C16, this seems to be the losing move.

I recognise him! He was at the amateur Gold Cup in China in summer 2016, then a 16-year-old 6d student. He came 7th place with 5/7. You can see him in this photo I took of the Korean winners: https://www.lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.p ... 99#p210099.

The first time a Go player from a Southeastern Asian country passing through the preliminary tournament. Chang Pukang beat Yunxuan Li (ama 7d, USA), Rit Bencharit (ama 6d, Thailand), Ali Jabarin 1p, Ryan Li 1p on his way.

Chang Pukang's victory is not a surprise. He has been training with Ge Yuhong's Go Academy in China for quite a while.

Impressive list of scalps, hope we see him at the WAGC or KPMC. Or is he aiming for pro?

Edit: Or maybe I already did with different transliteration, at the 2016 WAGC where he was 5d and got 4/8. http://www.europeangodatabase.eu/EGD/Pl ... y=17301361
