Index to useful posts for beginners

Every once in a while, in a forum other than 'beginners', a post is made that would be very useful for a beginner. I'm starting this thread to be an index to those particular posts or threads.

To the experienced contributors: Post links here. Please make it easy for the beginners. Being beginners, they may not be able to look at a whole thread and see which post has the info that they need. So link to the particular post, not just to the thread.( To get the URL for a post, when looking at the post in a thread, click on the post number and it will appear with its own URL. )
EDIT: As Phelan suggests, a label may help.

To the beginners: Welcome. I hope you find this useful.
EDIT: As chew Terr suggested, I've copied suggestions to this post. I may have missed some, so when you are done with everything listed in this post, you might check the rest of the thread for those that I missed.

The index starts here:

( Yes, a lot of these are my posts. I'm not suggesting that my posts are significantly better, they just happen to be the ones that I know about )

I'd put a label on the links, to know what they're about. For instance, I'd label that post "Fundamentals", or something like it.

Other than that, good idea, and the thread should be stickied to the top of the forum.

I like the idea of having something like this, like the starting points on Sensei's. If you're willing Joaz, it would be convenient if you index all of the links in your first post, which may be your intent.

Elesthor had some fairly sharp questions about the opening that several of us have been fielding. This may serve as an opening guide until we get a more focused tutorial. I don't know if this thread qualifies, since it's more the whole thread instead of one single post.

Also, for the same reason that this thread should exist in the first place, I think it should be stickied.

Another introductory thing that I liked was by Kirby in what I think was his first Malkovich game. His post was on the merits of different first stone options as white, and is here: viewtopic.php?p=3785#p3785

Edit: Dusk Eagle also did a brief overview of the Big Three Beginners Joseki (Kite, high approach attachment, 3-3 invasion) here: viewtopic.php?p=11851#p11851

I second the post that tj86430 linked to. It's quite a good way of thinking.
